How to plumb a new shower with 2 different heads
I had a new shower built and I want to have a rain shower head from the ceiling and a normal shower head from the wall of the shower. What do I need to install in order to run one head or the other at different times. How do I plumb this so that they don't run at the same time, I can select which one I want to run when I want to run it. And can I use Pex plumbing for any or all of this project?

I know what I'd do. I'd purchase a tub and shower valve with a built in diverter and connect the shower head in the normal fashion and tie the pancake shower head in to the diverter. Sound like a plan? Tom

Tom gave you excellent advice. Yes, you can use tub/shower 3-handle faucet and utilize spout outlet for 2nd shower. However, note that these type of faucets are not pressure and temperature balanced which is not approved by most of the Codes these days.

In addition to Tom's advice, you have 2 more choices:

    1. Install one diverter valve to switch between shower heads
    2. Install 2nd dedicated faucet just for the ceiling shower head

Additionally, HansGrohe sells faucet with diverter built in. You may want to consider that one as well.
