    State eletric waterheaters
I have a state eletric waterheater model# sci-30-HMS960-e. The breaker kicks off about every 3 hours and the water will not get hot. Should I replace the thermostat or heating element

    Hmmmm...

Mlee03, I'm going to see if we can move this over to the electrical forum... see what our electric guys think.

My guess is that the breaker itself needs to be replaced.

For now, is that breaker a 30 amp double pole breaker? How old is the heater? Let me know.

Also, please give the guys in electric some time to see this and post a response, OK?

    Thanks...

Any chance you can get a clamp on ammeter to check what the heater is drawing? I'm suspecting a bad breaker as well, but testing the circuit should be your first step.
