Mother cat insists on nursing kittens
My cat had kittens over 14 weeks ago and when ever she sees them near the food dish she will bring them into a corner and lay on her side and chatter until they start nursing. If one kitten shows no interest she will hiss at it and try to swat at it. I've tried to remove her because she has bitten them efore and whe I see this behavior I know what's coming. Has anyone ever heard of a cat doing this? Its so odd to me. She will also chase them all around the house chattering until they come to her ad try to nurse. They are showing all signs of wanting to wean, such as eating kitten chow and trying to run from her when she does this. These kittens all have homes and I'm worried what her behavior will be when their gone. That and I am planning on keeping one that I just fell in love with and I worry aout her continuing to do that to him. Please help!
