    What's an LPA? Please remember that different locations use different acronyms for the same thing so you need to spell things out. Also ANY question on law needs to include your general location as laws vary by area.

    A POA (Power of Attorney) is generally conferred by a person to another person to act for them. If that is done, then the grantee is under no obligation to inform anyone else.

    Sometimes, though rarely, a court might order a POA in the case where the subject of the POA is not competent to act on their own. But usually a court will assign a guardian for such a person, not a POA. If a court is doing this, then all interested parties should have been informed of a hearing and have attended that hearing.
