AFPAKIA the Paki Concerns ,and the President's discussion with Condi
Good essay in American Spectator about the underlying strategic interests of Pakistan , Their interest in Afghanistan is what they perceive is their eternal existential conflict with India.
The American Spectator : Aftermath of the Great Game

The President will travel to India Nov 6 for an economic summit .However ,I doubt if his sole intent is to promote American /Indian business ties.

The question is ,who does the President trust among his dwindling circle of competent advisors ? I suspect that perhaps he is beginning to realize he has not been served well by the Obots and can only rely on the Bush team to pull his butt out of the fire (if Rice plays a role the President will now have tapped into Bush's Sec State and National Security Advisor, his Sec Defense ,and his top General).
Yesterday the President had an audience with former Sec State and National Security Advisor Condolezza Rice. For the purpose of public consumption ,the Rice visit was a courtesy to drop off a signed copy of her new book about her childhood;"'Extraordinary, Ordinary People: A Memoir of Family ' (she delayed her memoirs of her time in government to fast track this book).......but according to AFP they discussed "a range of national security issues" .

No doubt her public image will instantly change from a stereotyped parrot on the shoulder of President Bush to a statesperson with a wealth of knowledge and experience .

    Hello tom:

You think?? Nahhh. SOME of us can remember further back than last week.

Rice and her cronies are war criminals who instituted an illegal worldwide torture regime. She should be prosecuted. Instead, Obama is doing the opposite. He's meeting with her in order to drink from the well of her wisdom on a wide range of foreign policy matters.

    Barf!

The fact that Obama is not only shielding from all accountability, but meeting in the Oval Office with the ONE PERSON who presided over the Bush White House's torture program, and the ONE PERSON who was responsible for the single most fear-mongering claim (the mushroom cloud) leading to the Iraq War, speaks VOLUMES about the accountability-free nature of Washington culture and this White House.

    Barf once again...

She was Sec State during a very difficult time in the country's history and will be remembered as one of the great ones.

He should invite her to be Sec Defense once Gates retires... have that 'team of rivals' thingy he claimed to admire about Lincoln.

Tom there is something to be said for having advisers who are truly on your team. Do you really think perpetuating Bush policies has enhanced the BO presidency. The use of drones in Pakistan certainly hasn't
