Had this dryer for over a year before I went to use it and I had no lights on the front panel at all. Couldn't even set the cycle nor turn the unit on! I had a repair manual which was prtetty self explanitory: (if step 1 did this, than go to step three. If step three doesn't work, then such & such part needs replaced), which I ended up replacing the panel that the hot & neutral wires led to and had the plugs for the heater conrtol. Cool, paid sears parts about $200, went home and assembled everything together again. Plugged it into the outlet (it runs off 120v) and the same problem plagued me. Nothing! No lights, Just a beep, but nothing functioned. I tore the unit apart again to see if I missed any wiringing. It was all good. Used different outlets, but no luck. My wife recently passed away and I had left the unit with the top off, and the control panel unfastened for about 1 year. I need to sell the unit, so I called Sears and they sent a service man out charging me $147 just for the service call. With the top half of the unit still unfastened he plugged it into the outlet and the darn thing worked! $147 for nothing! I later went to the hardware store to replace the screws to reassemble the unit since it had been a while since I disassembled it and couldn't locate the original ones. With the right fasteners, I assembled the unit, pushed it back to its spot, put a small load to be dryed into the cavity, closed the door, plugged it in, pressed a cycle... and NOTHING! Pretty upset by now, I called Sears again and sent a different guy out the next day. He was there for about an hour where the outcome was that he wasn't sure, but believed that the ffont control panel went bad (this is the panel that has all the lights) and this part was going to cost me $600.72 grand total! Something is very weird going on here. Why did it work one day and all I did was screw it back together, hook up the LP gas, and plug it in! It won't even be worth fixing and selling the unit! I really doubt anybody out there can help me, but if there is one - please give me some leads. I am electrically inclined and am thinking of taking the darn thing off and putting the whole piece through a field test. I just don't know where to start, and sears just wants you to replace whole panels. I feel I got nothing from them at a high price. It's just wrong. The dryer model #: 110.95089402.
