    Saw movie in 1980's but older
    I think the mother was barbara stanwyck and the guy looked like robert redford. I think he was a lawyer. It was black and white. I think the girl was named starr and he met her when he was out surveying a job site for a company. I think her family was considered from the wrong side of the tracks.

    Hi, Could be 'Stella Dallas'(Stell) that's the closest name to 'Starr' that any Barbara Stanwyck 'character' was called in any of her movies?? :)
