Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard 4 Fills Too Slowly (and not fully)
My Kenmore (Model #665.17032 102) dishwasher does not fill up enough to run a wash cycle. I have watched it fill with the door open and there clearly is not enough pressure coming out of the side wall where the water enters the dishwasher. I have disconnected the hose that comes from the valve under the faucet connecting to the bottom of the dishwasher and have confirmed good pressure from the valve through the hose. I have also disconnected both ends of the plastic, black, flexible hose coming from the side wall and going down to the assembly below the dishwasher. There doesn't appear to be any obstruction in there.

Is it possible the automatic valve is not opening enough to allow sufficient water flow into the dishwasher? If not, what other ideas are there out there to help resolve this problem?

In the meanwhile, we have been manually filling the dishwasher with a pitcher. This isn't very practical when the water fills and drains three times per cycle (especially when you are doing dishes for a family of 8!)

    Thank you all!

The fill solenoid valve may have an obstruction in it. Some times the hose that supplies water to the DW deteriorates and clogs the valve. You seem to know the parts so, remove the bottom panel and you will see a valve where the water goes in. Turn off the water supply. In some models you have a snap ring that holds the end on and in others it is a screw fitting. In any event, either remove the end or remove the valve(there are 2 wires) and disassemble it. Look for debris and junk that gets in the valve, clean it out and reassemble. Usually works! The black flexible hose is the drain line to the tailpiece, air gap or garbage disposal and doesn't do anything on the fill side.
