    Master Tenant VS Roommate
I'm asking fro advice again. I took on a tenant for the month of December in a huge apt comlex in NYC, but a 500 sq ft STUDIO.. We both realized very early on that it was not an ideal situation. He stayed up late, watching porn, on the net, doing laundry etc. He said it was his Anti-depressive meds. Because I work a typical 40+ hour week I kept insisting he refrain from that activity during the work week. He was inconsistent, and offered to move because of the curfew. In the weeks, time I learned he wasn't freelancing, but unemployed and living off a settelment and unemployment. One night after another episode, I agrred with him and decided the kurfew was not working and I returned the balance of his money. He accepted the money. It took another week before he packed his things and left. But NOT without incident. Tha huge complex confiscated his things until the next day. It is a compex of 1000 units, and they require advance notice on moves and during reg business hours.

Anyhow, this 34 yr old man would like to sue me. For the record, in the week I knew him, he file complaints w/the NYPD and a Manager at a retail store. I think he makes a career out of lawsuits.

On what grounds? Anyone can sue anyone, but their has to be grounds otherwise it will be quickly thrown out.

BTW, next time you take a roommate try doing, at least a cursory background check. And make sure you know the rules where you live about moves, etc.
