    Finding number of hits
    Two minor league baseball players got a total of 324 hits. Washington had 8 more hits than Sanchez. Find the number of hits for each player?

    Set up equations.

    Let w be the number of hits Washington scored,
    Let s be the number of hits Sanchez scored.

    Their total scores was 324 hits, hence, we get:



    Second, Washington scored 8 more hits than Sanchez. So, to make the hits equal, we have to remove 8 from Washington's hits.



    Now, solve the simultaneous equations. Is that okay now? :)
