    Fraction word problems
    One lap around the gym is 1/3 mile. Kim has already run 5 times around. If she wants to run 2 miles total, How much farther does she have to go?

    Find the length of those 2 laps that she wants to run.

    1 lap -> 1/3 mile
    2 laps -> (1/3) x 2 = ? Mile

    Post what you get! :)

    EDIT: Sorry, I misread and thought that she needed to run 2 more laps :(

    1. Find the length of 5 laps.
    2. Subtract 2 from that length.

    1/3 times 5 = 5/3 which iis 1 mile and 2/3. So 1/3 of a mile to go
