Is the door prehung? This means does it come already set in a jamb?

The rough opening should be 2 inches wider and 3 inches higher then size of door.

Set hinge side with shims at hinges. Use level on lock side of door. Set shims between hinges at 3 more locations (equal distance apart). Shim from both sides to keep jamb square.

Set header and lock side of jamb with 1/8 inch clearance between jamb and door.
