Working on a dsc 1832 system for 2 days now and keep getting a keybus fault error!
Hi, I have been working on a dsc 1832 system for 2 days now. I can see all 5 key pads, 3 expanders and the power supply in section 903 but still I am getting a keybus fault reading on my keypads and once that happens I am unable to use any of the keypads. What do I do?

    Check all Keybuss connections.
I Take it You Enrolled Keypads, as you saw KP1 through KP5 in (903, after doing 902)? I forget what the affect of no jumper or resistor on the Expander(I believe a Trouble, not a Keybuss Fault or an open Zone).
Next, I would remove the expanders. Then add KP's 1 by 1, then add each Expander until baddevice is located, it could be wireing or connections all the way to the KP or Expander.
Be sure to Reenroll the KP's and Expanders after each reconnection. Also Enable and View Supervision after each reconnection.
You should disconnect and reconnect with power off, you WILL have to reset Time and Date Each time powering up, or you will get a Trouble.
    Do Not Do this live.
Personally I have done it for years Live with no problems, I just make sure when connecting it is quick and exact.
Had a tough day and tired, so don't quote or try: remove Data wires, then hot, then Ground, When reconnecting, connect ground, hot, then both data. Its not in a book or recommended due to possible damage. I also Don't recommend Changing Light Dimmers, but I never have a problem wireing them live as well, Have the Dimmer off when connecting. I wouldn't do that either. Just saying, things are not as fragile as led to believe.

You have 700ma available for Power.
5 Keypads @125ma is 625ma's plus 2 expanders @30 Ma's brings you to 685ma's, near your 700ma max, Since you have between 25 and 32 zones, you likely have Motion or some powered device that would put you over the Max.
You would need Additional Power Supplie(s). It's a Nice Panel.
Later you Add the 5580 Automation Board, or a Receiver to allow wireless devices, keyfobs etc.
I have a wireless door/windo Transmitter and the Icon Keypad, This way My Vehicles are protected, that keypad allows 4 different chime tone to whichever zone you, You can "Hear" where someone is. Mine is front door, garage door, shed door, and Van Door.
