I want to install two sump pumps
My sump pump malfunctioned on me twice when we had heavy downpours of rain causing my basement to flood. The sump pump did not turn on. I bumped the pipe and the sump pump turned on but was too late. How do I set up another sump pump for back up?

Hi Richard... Usually, you will install a backup pump in the same pit (if deep enough) and you will set the pump about 6-8" higher than the primary pump. You can install a new sump pump or a battery back-up sump pump to protect in cases of power outage. The battery back-up system requires a marine type battery but they are great if power ever fails during/after a storm.
