Can I be caught on security cameras shoplifting at hudson bay
I am very ashamed to say this but I shoplifted at the hudson bay company. I then paid for another item using my debit card. Will they be able to identify me?

Instead of worrying about "getting caught" for stealing something from Hudson Bay, why don't you go back and do the right thing and pay for it.
You stated you had also purchased something, why not pay for all items?
You seem pretty bold... think before you act, who will trust you any longer, you could have a criminal record, do some time for your crime,
I could go on but you got 1 answer here. Do the right thing, do the right thing, do the right thing... do you have a conscious?

The answer to whether they will be able to identify you is maybe. If they have you shoplifting, then see you purchasing something else, they should be able to pinpoint when the sale was done and get the record of that sale.

I really do want to go back and pay for it. My guilt conscience is killing me. But will they still file criminal charges?

What I would do is get a money order for the amount of the item you stole + tax if any. Send it to the store with a typed letter apologizing for your indiscretion and promising it won't happen again. Do not identify yourself.

This will help your conscience without putting you at risk. Keep a copy of the letter and money order receipt in case they do identify and try to prosecute.
