    Relocating while on probation
    I'm on probation in Santa Clara County in California and am considering moving to Nevada, is it possible to relocate, and if so, how long does it take and what is the procedure?
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Contacting your PO and asking for a transfer of your case to the new location you are moving to.It can be that simple.

    A co-worker just did this.His probation is from Illinois and he is going to Missouri for a 7 week contract.He could either have driven back and forth each week(8 hours each way) for his visits to his PO or(as he did),had his case sent to Missouri for the duration of the contract.

    As long as you aren't some kind of risk(flight,etc) or have had violations which might label you as a risk,perhaps you can have it sent to the jurisdiction you are moving to.

    I would follow the advice that Excon posted - he knows.

    Ask for the procedure, put your request in writing.

    Otherwise you are wasting your time.
