    Are you still married,

    Are you still living together.

If together, do you normally keep money separate

Yes to all questions; this has gone on for years, some $ paid back, but so much more not.

Hard issue, first will depend on where you live, since often marital money is just that, And you will have to prove it was not merely a gift from husband and wife but a real loan.

Depending on how long ago, ( SOL may be an issue) I guess you can sue them in court. But then if you are at this point, perhaps a divorce may be a better way of solving this

Quite personally, I don't think him owing you money is the greatest reason for divorce. There are so many divorces already going on - seems like the reasons for them are getting more and more minor. Lots of married couples have money issues - they try to work them out. You're talking about giving up a life you're developed with this man cause he owes you some money - it's not like an acquaintance.

Sorry, but I just can't jump on that divorce bandwagon quite so easily as many people seem to.

Thanks for your thoughts, but I did not bring up divorce. This situation is far away from a simple money issue. He owes me hundreds of thousands of dollars...
