Foreign Earned Income Exclusion for Non-resident Spouse?
I'm a U.S. citizen. I work outside the U.S. and qualify for the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion. I'm going to marry a foreigner in my workplace. I read that I can file a joint return only if we elect to be taxed on our worldwide income. My question is that after filing a joint return, are we still qualify for the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion?

QUOTE,"My question is that after filing a joint return, are we still qualify for the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion?"--- Yes. You are able to qualify for " the foreign Earned income Exclusion"; as your spouse, a non-resident alien, becomes a resident alien( through a marriage to you, a U.S citizen) under the US Tax Code.

Further, your SPOUSE will also qualify for a Foreign Earned Income Exclusion of his/her own.

    mydkny:
You are required to report your worldwide income even if you are not married or do not file joint return.
