Child support from teen father
There was a recent post about a 14 year old girl and the father was 15.
I know she can file for child support BUT? Since the boy would be 15, in high school and no job, does his parents have to pay the support based on their income or is the support based on the boys NON INCOME.
I have never seen one of these first hand.

The parents could be responsible for the boys child support. And that support would be based on a impuned wage. Minimum wage and 40 hours per week. If its in California then they run the numbers through the disomaster and also time with the child is a factor. So long as its overnights.

Ok, I know here in GA, min support is based on wages of min wage for 30 hours a week.
But again, who is held liable in court for non payment, the boy or the parents, if not paid, can the state come after the parents, ( i.e. lose drivers license, garnishment, even jail)

The minimum child support order is $ 75 a month in Georgia.
If the boy can not pay, many states make the boy's parents pay.
Generally the parents are obligated to support their children. Thus the father and the mother of the minor father are obligated to support him. They may be ordered to pay CS for their grandchild, but if they are ordered to pay it will be at the state's minimum.
16 is old enough to get a job in Georgia thus he may be ordered to get a job and CS to be increased based on wages of min wage for 30 hours a week . Then if his parents want him in school they have to pay the ordered amount.
Note-if he is 16/17 and his parents were ordered to pay Cs and there is no a new court order, the parents are still obligated to pay what was ordered.

If the parents are ordered to pay child support then they will be held liable for non payment. The state can go after the parents if it was said they had to pay CS.

In Indiana, a 14 year old boy is ordered to pay $50 a month for the child he had with a 19 year old girl, even though she is not serving time for having sex with a minor. The court will make a presumption of 10 hours a week earning minimum wage.
