Notification & Eviction Rights in Virginia
I recently faced foreclosure and was in final stages of being processed for the HAMP program. This was being done by my bank/mortgage co/CITI. I was then notified by the bank/mortgage holder that my property had been sold. I was told by the same bank/mortgage/CITI company that the foreclosure was put on hold while programs were being processed to assist me. This began in June 2010. I sent all requested materials to CITI during this time frame. I called in weekly as requested by CITI/Mortgage Outreach Services. When I called in on August 27th I was informed that the property was sold on August 3, 2010. Yet the deed is still in my name as of September 3, 2010. I have not been served anything from the buyer or the court system.

What are my rights and what is the time frame for the procedures of notification and eviction in Virginia.

Well first of course there had to be a sale of your home, for it to have been sold,

But I know when I have bought properties, esp though foreclosures, it took me 6 to 8 weeks often to get the paper work though the banks, to file my new deed.
** does not mean I did not own it, just that the banks were slow at providing paper work.

But again, the new owners will have to serve you eviction notices, under federal law, they will have to provide you 90 day notice.

Now again, normally if it sold, someone would have been coming around looking at the property, several people normally when it was listed to be sold at the courthouse.

Something does not sound completely right, if sold, ask or even demand to know who the new owner is

Also if they no longer own it, they can't require you to keep calling in either ?
