Are Dschunds better alone or with other Daschunds
IM going away for 2weeks is it better for my miniature daschund to go to my Dads or for him to stay with a dog sitter who also has 2 daschunds? He does love my Dad but also loves the company of other dogs what should I do?

If it were for a weekend I might recommend the dog sitter because it would be a good opportunity for socializing the dog with other dogs. Two weeks is a long time for people-needy dachshunds to be away from their main people though, so given this length and his comfort and affection for your Dad, I think your dog would feel more secure with your dad.

Personally I would go with your dad as he is someone she knows and would make your leaving less stressful.

Personal preference though, if she's an outgoing dog she might have a ball playing with the other dogs.

Does your Dad have time for the dog? Has the dog stayed at your Dad's before? Have you asked your Dad?

If not, I'd say the dog sitter is the better bet since he is probably well equipped to take care of the dog. And dogs are pack animals. He would have company all day long there.

    Sincerely,

He does know my dad and loves him, yes he had been there before for 1 week, and my dad is willing to look after him, but because he loves the company of other dogs I'm woundering if he would profere to be with the doggies instead?? I don't want him to be unhappy won't be leaving him again :0(

Which one would do better at keeping up the routine you already have your dog on?

Has your father had experience with dogs? Does your dog respond well to him? Would he be able to handle an emergency situation with your dog? IF something happened, would it damage your relationship with your father?

Would your dog pick up bad habits from the sitters dogs? Would the sitter expect your animal to fit into his/her dogs routine and commands? IF the dogs didn't get along on a longer term basis, would your pup end up in isolation?

For me the decision would come down to where my dog would be most welcome and kept on as close to my routine as possible. Two weeks is long enough for a dog to become very confused over what is expected of him.
