I have a best friend for 2 years now and I want to start to date her now that she has broken it off with her last boyfriend. We talk at least 3 to 4 times a day on the phone and meet up at least once a week for happy hour. He knows that I have feelings for her but she says that I'm different from all the other guys she's dated and she doesn't want to ruin what we have now. My problem is that I have feelings for her and I don't want to lose her to someone again. She is a very attractive girl and guys are always trying to date her.

Sounds like she only sees you as a friend. If she already knows how you feel, then the ball is on her side of the court.

If you can't handle being friends only, then sticking around waiting for her to come around is just setting yourself up for disappointment.

She's told you quite clearly that she's not interested in anything more than friendship , either because she doesn't have the same feelings that you do or as she says , because she doesn't want to jeapardise your friendship.

Respect her wishes or you may just push her away and lose that as well.
