    No acces to harddisk
    Hi,

I recently bought an extra 80GB harddisk. The problem is: I can't acces it.
If I take a look in the BIOS, it's there, so my computer recognises it.

I thought I had to update my BIOS, but I already have the latest version.
I REALLY hope you can help me, because I need the extra space.

    Thanks!

What operating system are you using? Is the drive properly jumpered? Did you partition and format it?

WindowsXP, it's set as 'auto', didn't partition/format it. I wouldn't know how to do that...

I assume you installed it on the same cable as your other drive. If so, that drive needs to be jumpered as master and the new one as slave. How to do that should be in the instructions that came with the drive.

Once that is done correctly, you need to first partition the disk then format it. For specific instructions on how to do that lookup partition drive in Windows Help.
