Introducing absent father to his daughter
I have a 5 year old daughter in which her bio father has been absent from her life since 4 months old. The reason behind this is because he was very violent towards myself and my daughter. He was imprisoned for 2 years for brutally assaulting my daughters half brothers mum. He has been released now and I was contacted by her as he wants contact for my daughter. I am very reluctant to do this, I have protection orders in place and a parenting agreement which allows him supervised contact even with his numerous violent convictions. My daughter knows she has a father as I feel she has a right to know. She also has a great father role model with my partner of 4 years. My ex says he has changed I don't believe him at all and feel what if I allow him to see her and it turns bad. I am trying to protect her as well as I can but I am absolutely unsure what to do? If anyone has any good ways I could tackle this situation it would be appreciated.

If he has supervised visits you have no choice.

Who is to supervise the visits, is it a court supervisor, ( company that does supervision)

If he has not seen her for a while, you can go back to court and try to get restrictions, perhaps computer video meetings at first,
And then meetings at a couselors office to start with.
But that will all have to be ordered by the court, unless he just agrees to it.

Right now if there is a court order you have to do what it says
