How to get your german shepherd to stop barking for every single reason
My 7 month old German Shepherd just does not quit barking. Sometimes it is very annoying. He is unhappy outside, inside the crate and when the other puppy is out. He does not bite or any thing like that. But he chews up every thing. My new house is all chewed up from the outside and he also made a big whole on our wooden gate.

    Sometimes?

Just from first impressions, it sounds like a hyper activity/dominance problem.

    1. German Shepherds are a dominant breed. That is why they are usually employed as guard and police dogs.

    2. German Shepherds are a strong working breed. They need a job. They need activity. You need to redirect his excess energy.

The first thing you need to do is establish your dominance. He is a pup yet. But if you don't do this and the dog continues to become even more unstable, neither you nor anyone who comes in contact with your dog will be safe.

The next thing you need to do is to give your dog a lot of activity. Walk him, run him, put him through obedience training.

And you must do it in that order. First you establish dominance and then you train him. Because if you do it the other way around, you'll never get past step one because he won't take you seriously.

Also, either buy or check out from the library Leader of the Pack by Nancy Baer and Steve Duno.

It sounds like your Shepherd is bored. What's his exercise routine like? Does he have appropriate things to chew on when he is out of his kennel?

Have you considered obedience classes? It's a great way for your Shepherd to build confidence, establish your role as alpha, as well as it's an excellent bonding experience for you and your pup.
