My best friend doesn't know how she feels about this guy. He likes her and has told her that he wants to date her. But she's unsure about what she's feeling for him. They've been best friends for a year and are really close. They flirt and have fun all the time and I think they're really good for each other because he treats her right. He's had a lot of past relationships that have ended bad. You know the girl cheats on him and stuff like that. He's really a sweet guy and I approve. My best friend is very indecisive and needs some good advice. What should I tell her?

He already told her how he feels. So the ball is on her side of the court. He can't force her to like him. What he can do is talk to her more to get to know her better, but tell him not to force the issue as you don't want to put pressure on the other person, that would only push them away.

What a good friend you are.

She may have reasons she hesitates with him, that you may not be aware of. She is wise to use caution, and proceed very slowly. Personally, I think that knowing him well for a year as a friend, it would be a natural progression to fall in love- if both parties are on the same wavelength.

At least she is likely comfortable enough with him to say she is unsure, and he sounds respectful enough toward her that he won't push it.

I hope that if she does decide to date him, she realizes that that transition from friend to boyfriend, may not ever go back to the way it was, should it not work out.

As I wish said, the ball is in her court now.
