    Would backpacking affect a new conception
    My husband and I are tying for the first time to get pregnant. We have a 4 day backpacking trip planned for when would get my period. If we are pregnant would backpacking this early on do any harm? I'm 31, an avid backpacker but mostly 2 day trips so this would be a bigger one. Normally my pack is around 40lbs.

    I don't think you will do any harm. We women have made it through the last millinea carrying more then 40lbs and pregnant at the same time. Have a great time.. Its goiing to make your stomach muscles stronger, which is a good thing.

    Not an obygyn but a lady with a lot of common sense, who carried 20L pails of water to the barn every day am and pm while 8 months. Pregnant!

    Enjoy the exercise and fresh air... make sure you rest as needed and drink plenty of fluids.

    Since your body is used to this form of exercise there should be no cause for concern.
