This is a frequently asked and answered question. Its also a legal question so has been moved to the proper forum. There are NO laws anywhere that govern dating. All the laws deal with sexually activity. And the age of consent in CO is 17. There is an exception that depends on the relationship (for example if the 21 yr old is a teacher or clergy etc.) However, as a minor, you are under your parents control until your next birthday so they have to approve otherwise he could get in trouble for going against their wishes. Those are the legal issues. However, there is a big gap in the development levels between 17 and 21. That gives rise to a question about the 21 yr old's intentions. Most 21 yr olds would shy away from someone as young as 17 because of that difference. |
