    Can I get restitution waived after the business has been sold?
    I was arrested due to embezzlement. I served 2 years in state prison and an now paying restitution that was ordered by the court. The business I worked for has been sold to another company and the business name is also gone. The former president/owner do longer owns the company.

    Hello legal:

    One of the assets the new owner bought was your restitution agreement. You still owe it to the company no matter WHO owns it.
