Me and my ex boyfriend went out for 2 years , are relationship was a good one. We had are little fights that were over silly things and would make up within the hour or the next day.We broke up about a month ago because he needed to figure his life out he said and he still loved me and he cried about it and was sorry for hurting me etc. then tells me that he wants us to work out but needs time and if we did try us again he would want a fresh slate with us ,we remained friends after the breakup. We hung out one time and during that time we started to kiss and then he stopped and said he doesn't want me to think he's using me as a bootycall type thing,so we stopped and that was that.
I never text him or contact him,I let him contact me and when we do talk its good we tell what's been going on , etc. we talk at least once a week.
Yesterday he imed me on Facebook and was talking to me and then he said he was going to text me and we did and he was very flirty with me but distant at the same time.
What I need help with is that I want him back! I just don't know how I should go on about it like should I ask him if we can get together or something?

He has already told you he needs time and space and its hard when he contacts you once a week. Its up to you to protect your heart by understanding that his words and actions don't match and he sends confusing messages to you. The idea is to keep you close and wanting him still so he can always come back if his exploring doesn't work out. Sure you care, because he seems to be chasing you still, but he is looking for something better and will not contact you as much until he doesn't contact you at all.

The whole problem is you are so carried away by your feelings for him, that you haven't noticed he has put you in the friend zone, and has made you an option in his life, and not a priority over all else. He may not even be aware that's what he is doing, but the results are the same.

You change all that by NOT being available for his contact, and learn to have fun, and be happy without him, as you do your own thing, and leave him alone while you do.

Stop thinking about it, just let things unfold as they should. It's really that easy. Just protect yourself and don't let him play games with you, I don't know his intentions but any little thing you might over read and think there's more meaning to him just talking to you, maybe he's just bored sitting at home online doing a paper and you're the only other loser online, or maybe he sat there waiting all day for you to come on to try and start a conversation, I mean I don't know. Just take it slow, and protect your heart... you'll figure out what to do.

Just flat out tell him that you want him back. Do this face to face. Get together as soon as possible and then look him straight in the eyes, tell him that you want him back because you love him. Then let him take over from there.
