Two basement light bulbs blow constantly.
Hi. We have two light bulbs at the front of our basement that blow constantly. We know it isn't the wiring, we've replaced the sockets and we've tried different bulbs but they still blow. We think it might be vibrations from the main floor either from someone walking across the floor or closing the front door. How can we fix it so the bulbs won't blow so often?

Noticing the problem may be vibration is a good call, exactly what I would have mentioned.

You can purchase incandescent lamps rated "Rough Service". These lamps are built for locations with vibration. Often used by auto mechanics in their drop lights.

Or you can use a screw in compact fluorescent lamp. These should hold up better with the vibration, and will save enegy at the same time.
