Advice for what an aunt could do to keep nephews safe
Sister has moved her 2 boys from state to state. She has had 8 yr old in 3 dif 2nd grades. She has warrants out for her and can't get a place to live so she is staying in hotels. She has battery charges and on probation in Illinois and let the boys come to I'll to visit and now it time for them to go back to be put in school with no definite place to live where she lives. What can we do?

File for guardianship and prove that the mother is unfit.

JudyKayTee is right. You have to try and get custody of the kids or it'll worry you to death.

Children's Services may be able to help you out as well.

    Good Luck!

If she has warrants out for her--advise the police where she is, but I would talk to local social services and see what steps you need to take to take immediate temp custody instead of having them placed in foster care. Good Luck

The day the Police are called and pick "her" up is the day the children go (at least temporarily) into foster care.

I stand by my original advice - apply for guardianship, get guardianship and THEN notify the Police.
