Ear piercing
Hi, I'm wanting my ear cartliage don't with a gun at claire's, but I need some pointers first! It would be nice if I can have some encouragment because I'm wanting it done by this Saturday before school starts. And I was wondering if those of you with LOW pain tolerence(just like me) think its hurts at first when they stick the gun in your ear, what does it feel like. Please guide me through this! :)

My roommate had his cartilage done. He said the piercing was only slightly more painful than your lobes, but they were sensitive and achy for about 2 weeks. He had some trouble sleeping in certain positions and the like.
Good Luck.

A gun isn't a good idea at all! You should go to a professional piercing shop and get it done with a needle, it may be more expensive but id rather have a straight, clean and professionally done piercing than have someone else's bodily fluids in my new piercing where it will no doubt become infected...
Guns are inaccurate, unhygienic and far too blunt to make a good piercing and can also shatter your cartilage.
With a needle, the piercing process itself is also much safer and less painful than having a blunt stud forced through your skin. A piercing needle is actually hollow and extremely sharp. It slices through the skin, safely pushing the tissue aside to make room for the jewelry to be inserted. That may not sound too appealing, but it is actually a very quick process and the method is virtually painless for most body parts.
I've had all of my piercings (except lobes) done with a needle and they have turned out straight and haven't gotten infected.
Good luck.

I agree with ramona_, the gun is a bad way to go. I got my cartilage done that way and regret it. It didn't heal properly and is still sore, almost a year later.
Go to a professional, a peircing is something you don't want to regret rushing! Also, they're better trained to deal with nervous people or someone with concerns. Good luck!

Do it with a needle to reduce infection risks. Cartilage infections are nothing but a nightmare. You want to be hygienic! Don't worry, it's not too painful, but everybody has a unique pain tolerance so don't count on my opinion. Go for it! If your ready, don't hold back, it looks pretty!
Good luck x
