    I own a 17.5 HP, 42
The mower runs 5-10 minutes then dies and will not restart. Thought it was a fuel flow problem so I put in fresh fuel, cleaned spark plug, new fuel filter and cleaned carb. No joy... please help

    Hi,
The time involved says it is a fuel problem. Check for flow and pump, if equipped. Kind of difficult with no brand or model mentioned.

    Hi,
If recent in manufacture, it probably an Intek and would be gravity fed if tank is under hood and pump fed if tank is under seat. Check for fuel flow(disconnect line at carb) for former and for fuel pulse(diconnect line between carb and pump) and turn engine over for latter.
    Peace,
    Clarke
