For the last 2 months my dog has started peein and pooping in the house?
My dog is 9 months old he started by peeing and pooping outside all the time, now he is peeing and pooping in the house through the night and if he is left on his own.. I leave the door open all night so he can go in and out when he pleases so why is he doing this? I would understand if I shut him in, I can't take much more of it as I have 4 children and they can't simp,y go downstairs for breakfast in the morning without me doing a major clean up! I need to find a way to stop as it has already lifted all my wooden flooring this is his last chance.

If he is only doing it when you leave him alone, it could be separation anxiety. You can try crating him. Crating is a safe place for a dog who suffers from anxiety issues. Make sure the crate is big enough for him to lay down and turn around. If you get one that is too big, than he will designate a bathroom area.

Also if you are going to crate, make sure to not use the crate as punishment. This needs to be a happy place for him. If you do decide to crate, and would like some tips on how to transition him into it, let us know!

When dogs urinate on a floor, sometimes they will urinate there in the same spot again because they can smell the urine. You need to wash the floor, please I would recommend using organic cleaning products from your local supermarket so that the dog is not harmed by breathing or licking or touching the floor spot you clean. Consult your vet please they can try to help you and figure out why this is happening. Good luck! Also you can buy him a doggy diaper, it's supposed to be not hard to use and you can buy one to wash or disposable ones. Google search it and/or just go to your local pet store, they should sell them, and it may temporarily solve your problem, but try to take him to the vet!
