Replaced the belt on my dryer, but the new belt is loose.
We replaced the belt because the dryer is squeaking. The old belt is longer than the new belt. And the old belt did still turn the drum. Why is the new belt so loose? We are putting around the motor pulley and the guide pulley. Any suggestions?

    Wrong belt.

Is the idler pulley putting tension on the belt?

When the dryer belt broke, the belt pulley fell to the bottom of the dryer. I can't find where to put it back. The dryer is 25 years old. I don't want to pay for a service call. Is there a manual on line?
