I am installing a car stereo and the dash light won't come on in a 1996 mercurycougar
After installing a pioneer stereo, I have the radio and all speakers working but cannot get a wiring harness to know where the "hot"wires go together. I have a single black wire that seems to do nothing and I know that isn't right

When attempt to start there is no power , radio has lost power and code has to be inputted. Light in dash pane come on and there is clicking when attempting to start but will not start. Battery is good.
