Let him know you would like to talk about what happened but first let him get some rest and food,if he's tired he mostly likely will not be in form to talk,or let you make up...
The best thing you could do and the most considerate is to let him sleep and chill when he gets of a long shift.
Why the time restriction?

Wait until tomorrow?
Why does it have to be tonight and can you not talk to him before he goes to work?

start treating the relationship with care, stop having silly rows, respect each other.
you can't turn everything around in one night, you can't 'fix' anything... only both of you can fix what's wrong, only both of you can talk about it.
the relationship belongs to both of you,its down to two people to work it out,not one to do some magic trick to make everything OK.
so,my advice to is say to him in a calm voice...
I don't have a magic trick to fix this, but I want us to work,I want us to talk,I can't stop you from leaving, but I'm not going to argue over stupid things anymore, and I hope you value our relationship enough to at least talk about this.
then leave him to sleep and think.
whatever he comes back with accept and move forwards, either together or apart.

Make him a nice breakfast, and talk about how sorry you are and you will try to be more reasonable in the future. If that's not enough, tell him you hope breakfast was okay, and have a nice life.
Anything more than that is blackmail, and unreasonable, and goes against your dignity, and self respect.
If that's what he wants (you to give up your dignity, or self respect) then screw this fool. Who the hell does he think he is with that kind of crap after a disagreement?? You were probably right! Maybe he should be taking YOU to breakfast!!
