Hi,

I would like to control my two fans speeds and its lights separately with dimmers. Inorder to control a fans speed or its lights brightness would any dimmer etc work but all I have to do is look for one that can handle the load. So if it is 1000 watt I should look for a 1000 watt or more one. I can use the same TYPE of dimmer to control the fans speed and its lights.

I need it to be 3-way also because I need it in two locations. I suppose I need 4 dimmers then. I was thinking about something like this http://www.dimmersmall.com/index.php...ls&product=471 Thanks

Are you controlling the two fans together or separate?

Together. Cannot use dimmer switches to control the fans motor but can use it too control its lights. So that means two 3-way dimmer switches and two 3-way fan speed controls with 3 different speeds. But know there is another problem the fan has a remote and receiver on it already.

The fans that I took down in the first place were controlled by switches while the new one has a remote and receiver. Sense the wires and outlet boxes are already there I was just going to wire them also so that if I wanted to I could use the switches or if not then the remote. Is that possible. The wireless remotes aren't already built in but are an addition. I was going to wire the wall switches after the wireless remote receiver. Thanks

Ok you can either control the fans with switches or remotes but not both. I also do not know if they make 3 way fan speed controls, if they do they are hard to find. HOWEVER you only use 1 three way dimmer and one regular switch, one fan control and one regular switch. Does that make sense?

Can I just have a simple master wall switch for the fans so if I set the remote on high speed and low light I can switch it off with the wall switch and if I want it back on high speed and low light I just switch the wall switch back on. Thanks

Some remotes work like that, some, if you cut power to them and then switch it back on again they revert to "all off" mode. It depends on the remote. More and more remotes have a "memory" these days so it might work.

You can see why I don't like remote fans. Too complicated!
