    Hello N:

When you violate your probation, a warrant is issued, and your probation STOPS tolling. Therefore, as long as YOU are not there to complete it, it NEVER gets completed, and the warrant will last FOREVER.

Your probation will not just "end" if you have violated it. It will stop completely regardless if you have one day left to go. You will have a warrant issued for your arrest and then once you are caught you will attend a VOP hearing at which time the Judge could either make you do your time in jail or give you more probation on top of what you already had. It's all up to the Judge what happens to you at your VOP hearing.

And as Exie pointed out above - warrants like this one would never expire and could follow you from state to state. When you go down to the local DMV to have your driver's license renewed you will be held and arrested. If you are stopped in a traffic stop and your name is run you will be arrested and held. It does not matter what state you are in at the time of your stop either as they will just hold you until the original state where the warrant was issue decides if they want to come and get you. This could take several weeks for them to get around answering the state that you were arrested in as well. In the meantime you will be languishing in their local jail with no bond.
