Would a clogged well point cause low water pressure
I have a 1 1/2" well, 3/4 hp pump and a 12 gal bladder tank. I have enough pressure to take a shower, but when it comes to fill the washer it takes forever. After it is about 1/3 full the water flow goes down to trickle. This has been going on for years. The pump was rebuilt 2 years ago and the tank is 3 years old. The well was put down around 1965. Could the point be plugged up ? I was told the well is 35 ft. down. Thanks for your help. Jeff [email protected]

I bet that water table's down more then 35 feet now.
I'm no pump expert but you show the classic signs of a water table that's lowered over the years. And when the table resides the dirt closes in to clog up a well point.
The solution would be to pull and clean or replace the well point and sink the point lower. Good luck, Tom

1 1/2" well? Do you mean the pipe size, not the well bore? If you have a 1 1/2 well bore with a 3/4 -1" pipe, you don't have much water to begin with. 35 ft. is VERY shallow. You are most likely running out of water. Doubt the foot valve is plugged, your shower worked fine.
