    Maytag DG306
Old Maytag DG306 won't heat. Pilot is lit. When started, the burner will come on for 1 or 2 seconds then shut off. After a minute or two, it will cycle again for a couple of seconds then off again. No manual or wiring diagrams, but suspect a temp sensor has failed. Any comments?

A 1972 Maytag DG306. Has run great for years EXCEPT for repeated thermocouple sensors coming off the pilot light and back to the gas valve. Replaced every six to eight years. NOW... no longer available. Are these available aftermarket? What exactly tends to go wrong with them?
