What can be done to me in PA?
I live in PA, work on NJ. Have fallen on hard times money wise. A few years ago I borrowed $10,000 from a family member. Actually I put expenses on their CC with their consent. Have been paying them the monthly or close to it since. Was paying cash but had a discrepancy in the totals and a falling out so I started paying by check. I'm attempting to pay but due to loss of OT at work becoming more difficult to pay the minimum(wont be able to this month). I've heard judgements are hard to enforce in PA(the family member is also a PA res). There is no written agreement, nothing signed. What am I looking at?

You are looking at a Judgment against you and collection by any legal means.

I find that PA is hard on debt collection agencies but don't find anything indicating that it is difficult to enforce a Judgment.

Your paying by check provides acknowledgment that the debt is yours. This should make it easy for them to get a judgment. Judgments are no harder to enforce in PA then anywhere else. They have to find your assets to attach them.
