New Hunter Fan w/light & 3rd party remote
    Good morning.

I thought I had this nipped but after two hours and turning the breaker back on; I was disappointed. My question is about the existing wiring.

We wanted to replace a fan in our sons room. It was controlled by a wall switch. The existing wiring from the jbox to the wall switch is:

    1xRed
    1xBlack
    1xWhite

Not complicated :) Here's where I think I messed up. We purchased an additional remote control.

As of now I have the fan w/light & remote wired this way:

    From Fan To Remote:

    Black to black
    Blue to blue
    White to white
    Green to bare

    From Remote to Jbox

    Black to black
    White to white

And I ignored the Red wire. Of course the fan or light is not working.
Should I have wired the red with the blacks?

    TIA
    Terry

And yes, this fan has both a light and fan chains. It is also a Harbor Breeze - 44" sorry for not adding this earlier.

There should be an additional black and white wire either in the ceiling box, or at the wall switch. Which is it?

    I will also ask:

How many wall switches do you have?

Try switching the red and the black from the ceiling, see if it makes a difference.
