Holly, I have asked this question to be moved into Family Law from the Heating & A/C forum.

YOU aren't supposed to pay anything to support someone else's child.

Your husband needs to check the paperwork he signed regarding his parental responsibilities for this child.

I've moved your question here from Heating and A/C. For future reference, please take more time select a forum to post in. Also, by browsing the appropriate forum you may find the answer to your question already posted. And you will usually find tips on how to compose your question. For example ANY question on law needs to include your general area as laws vary by area.

So there are two factors governing this. The first is the wording of the support order. For example, if the support order states that support will continue until the child reaches 18 or finishes school, then he might be off the hook. The second factor, is the law in your area. In some areas support continue until age 21.

And, as Lemming noted, there is no "we" here. It may be true that the payments are made from a joint account, it may even be true that you are contributing to the payments from your income. But a child support obligation is the parent's alone. If any of your funds are being used that's totally voluntary on your part.
