    If someone close the garage door on my car and damage it, Is he liable for it.
    Someone closed garage door on my car and damaged the hood which now needs to be replaced. I had my wife and a 3 yr old daughter inside. He does not own any car or insurance. But he has renter's insurance. What kind of charges I can press against him? He is not willing to pay any damages. I have 4 witnesses that saw him pressing the button carelessly.

    Yes, you can sue him in small claims court. The fact that he has renter's insurance is immaterial. Be sure to get written estimates for the cost to repair the damage.

    I can't help with that, but would consider raising the beams if they are very low to the ground, sometimes the beam can see under the vehicle.
    Maybe the installer has some responsibility as well?

    Stratmando - by "beam" I assume you mean the safety sensor that is supposed to keep the door from closing when something is in the way? You are correct that they are mounted quite low - but that's on purpose. The installation directions require you to mount them about 6" off the floor. So to put them higher would be against instructions (which could be grounds for a law suit).

    The Code needs to be changed by being that low, This Happens.
    If there reason is to keep from closing on a crawling baby? then a second second can keep from closing on a Vehicle?
