    Lien on home
I am 58 years old and was laid off 2009. My unemployment is due to run out in 90 days. My husband is retired & getting a retirement payment that will pay our living expenses only. We have paid every bill on time but when the unemployment runs out, we can not pay. We owe about $22,000 on our house, at our age we can not chance anymore of a mortgage than we owe now as we could not pay it back. We owe $14,000 personal loan. Can they place a lien against our home? We live in Ohio.

First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

Don't worry about a lien on your home. All a lien does is prevent you from selling the home before the lien is satisfied.

Generally, they can't force you from your home for unsecured debt.

I would however, talk to your creditors, explain your circumstances and see what deals you can work out.
