    What are nebraska's laws on how to gain custody of my great niece
    My nephew just went to prison his wife I feel don't take care of my great niece. My nephew made me promise I would get custody of my niece. We live in Nebraska how would I go around in proving the mother is un fit and is'nt taking proper care of her. If my nephew signed over his rights to me would that make a better case.

    If the mother is unfit, and you can PROVE it, and you are the nearest relative, you MIGHT be able to do it. But, you're going to need a lawyer. Your nephew's wish's won't carry much weight.
