    Who is responsible for transportation when the non-custodial parent filed joint custo
    Non custodial parent filed for joint physical and legal custody, and the court gave it to him. In the past I never had a problem with contact or visitation, when he called for her or to see her , I never said no. Now he was awarded joint custody, he makes his own decision on how long she is going to stay w/ him w/o discussing it with me and never wants to return her unless I pick her up. I live 45 minutes. Away, and do not have reliable transportation.what can I do?

    This is impossible. If the NCP(non-custodial parent) filed for visitation and received it, the courts would have specified a time that the child is to both begin and end visitation with the NCP; they would not leave it open to interpretation.

    Transportation should have been addressed at the same time as the visitation schedule.

    Check your court order and see what it says.

    Generally when joint physical custody is awarded, a schedule splitting the time is agreed to. I assume the children are not of school age because joint physical custody can only work if both parents live close enough to the children's schools.

    So there is something missing here.

    Also in most cases unless it is otherwise said in the court papers. The one that has the visitation also provides transportation. SO the child should be picked up and dropped off by the same parent or you can agree to meet 1/2 way.
