    German copy of Snow White
I have a German copy of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves - Schneewittchen und die Sieben Zwerge - it is from the 1930's. It was passed down to me from my grandmother. There isn't anything in the book about who the publisher is or exact publishing date. The only thing is on the cover in the lower corner very small that reads PV 340/2. The illustrations are BEAUTIFUL. On the back of the book is an illustration with a signature that is far too small to read. Does anyone know the best way inquire as to the value?

Go to your public library (or even just call) and ask a reference librarian (not a clerk) this same question. There are ways to search for and obtain the information you need. The librarian will know how.

Is there any publishing info on the last page, front or back?

Does the title page list an author or any other information?

Wondergirl - that's just it... there is nothing. It's a paper cover book, when you open it, there is a beautiful illustration of the Queen looking in a hand held mirror and the only thing written on the page is "Schneewittchen". The only writing in the entire book is the story in German.
I will check out the library tho' as you suggested.

I'm a librarian and checked WorldCat a few minutes ago, but don't have enough information to figure out if another copy exists. Are you willing to take the book with you and show it to the reference librarian? I'm German on both sides of my family and would love to get a look at this book. If you don't get any satisfaction at the library, be sure to let me know.

I will go this week and talk with the reference librarian. I have been all over the net looking into this... no luck.
I just found "ask me" the other day. I'll try to post a pix of it.

Are you interested in selling it? The librarian can also help you with that once you find out what it is and if it's worth anything. Did you check eBay for something similar?

Check Amazon (I couldn't find a comparable copy there). You could sell it as an independent bookseller, if you are thinking of selling it (once you can assign it a price). Check alibris.com (out-of-print and rare books) also for a similar copy.

Snow white [ 1 Answers ]

I'm chasing a children's book I had as a child, or at least one of the images from the book. It was a small thin and hardcover illustrated story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. I don't know the author or the illustrator. The book may have possibly come with a read-along tape. The specific...

Snow White - Age of Aquarius [ 5 Answers ]

Snow white? [ 2 Answers ]

There's a remake of snow white. I'm not sure what its called. But the evil queen takes over snow white father and buts him on a cross upside down. And there's another scene. The dwarves are all grown men and one of them falls in love with snow white. Its rated R and it was made I think somewhere in...

Fakie Snow White [ 2 Answers ]

I saw this off-brand Snow White movie in the 80s. I believe the actors were Russian or Polish, not sure but they were not english. Anyway, instead of the usual choking on an apple, Snow White gets stabbed the back of the head by a comb, and asfixiated by a belt that was too tight. Can anyone tell...
